Board of Directors
The Swedish School board consists of committed parents who work together to develop the school and create the best possible conditions for our students, teachers and families.
The board is elected by the school members at the annual meeting and can consist of up to nine members. The board's work includes the school's finances, operations and long-term development, with a strong focus on community, open communication and preserving and strengthening the Swedish language and culture for our children.

Michaela Pratt
President & CEO
Michaela was born and raised in Stockholm and has lived in the United States since 2002. She has spent most of her career in the nonprofit sector, focusing on non-profit management, fundraising, strategic development, and philanthropy.
Michaela lives in Virginia with her family and has two children who attend Swedish School. She has been involved in the school's board since 2026.
Janina Bröker
Vice President
Janina grew up in Vänersborg and moved to DC in 2021 after a detour via Copenhagen and Boston. She lives with her husband and daughter in Petworth, and works with economic policy analysis on a daily basis.
Her daughter has attended Swedish School since 2024, and Janina has been a board member since 2025.
Alvina Erman
Secretary
Alvina is new to the Swedish School's board and has the role of secretary.
She has lived in Washington, DC since 2013 and currently lives in The Wharf with her husband, who is also Swedish, and their daughter, who is a new student at the Swedish School.
Ingrid Warmerdam
Treasurer
Ingrid was born and raised in Stockholm. She lives in Haymarket, Northern Virginia, with her husband, two children, two fluffy cats, and twelve colorful koi fish.
Both children are students at the Swedish school. Ingrid was elected treasurer in the fall semester of 2026.
Anton Severin
Board member
Anton is originally from Jönköping and studied and worked for several years in Uppsala and Stockholm before moving to Washington, DC, in 2017.
Today Anton lives on Capitol Hill with his wife, son and dog. His son started at Swedish School in 2025, and the same year Anton was elected to the school's board.
Linn Jennings
Board member
Linn was born in Sweden and raised in California. As a child, she attended the Swedish School in Santa Barbara, CA. After graduating from high school in California, she attended Rudbeckianska Gymnasium in Västerås for a year as an exchange student.
She has lived in the Washington, DC area since 2021 and lives in College Park, MD with her wife and son Kasper, who has been attending Swedish School since 2025.
