What is the Cultural Fund?
The purpose of the cultural fund is to offer temporary support to families who have difficulty paying the tuition fee. Continuous language instruction is seen as very important for developing good language skills and the Swedish school's goal is to support the children's Swedish language development while also being an important bridge between Swedish families in Washington DC and Swedish culture. The school therefore plays not only an academic role but also offers an important social community and social support for many Swedish families in Washington, DC.
What is the support supposed to cover/be used for?
The support is given as a discount on the semester fee. The support is intended to be temporary support for families who have found themselves in sudden financial hardship. Although the support is intended to be temporary, parents and guardians can apply for support for several semesters.
Who can apply for grants from the cultural fund?
The applicant must be:

students over 15 years of age enrolled in Swedish schools,

parents or guardians of students enrolled in Swedish schools.

If you have questions about the cultural fund or would like to submit an application, please contact the school's chairman via email .
How are decisions made?
Applications submitted to the school president are treated confidentially. Only the school president and treasurer have access to individuals' personal information. The school president and treasurer present proposals for support to the school board. Decisions on support are made by the school board at the next regular board meeting.
Decisions are announced via email by the school chairman.
